Yoko Ono and Music Management

In 2014 I met a young girl, probably 20, and I said: I've just met Yoko Ono. The girl replied: Yoko Ono - who is that?

Thus and therefore it should be repeated to any bright musician or songwriter, that the things you do today, may well be forgotten tomorrow.

Since 1958 I've seen it over and over and over again.

The only project which will last for years is "Ave Maria" and Ave Maria Concert Festivals.

Therefore, look at the music business as something which you may enjoy for your life ... as long as your name (brand-name) is "in". As time passes other artists will take over the minds of the audience ... also YOUR audience.

I've met artists, who proudly could proclaim, that they had signed million dollar contracts. Yes, they did sign, and they did have contracts for a whole year or two. Then they vanished from the stage of fame. You can still hear them occationally, but they don't make any severe income.

As an example we can mention one of the worlds greatest songwriters, Paul McCartney. A giant name icon, but yet his girlfriend teases him, and say: People on Facebook don't know you, but they know me, because I'm young. (Not a quote).

Of course Paul McCarney and his music will be printed into the minds of the audience for years. Thereafter, someone else will become dominant to the market place. Same happened to to Mozart, same happened to Rossi, same happened to Pignatelli.

Paul's song, "Let It Be", may however secure him a place within the Ave Maria concept, and thus keep his name alive for decades and centuries after his death.

Let us explain the following, hoping that young managers and young artists may understand the importance of Yoko Ono.

Yoko Ono was married to John Lennon. John Lennon became - VIA HIS MUSIC - and icon for billions of people during a time, where the world was on the brink of war. The war, which was actually going to be initiated the 26th of September 1993, was going to be triggered by a man named .....

The man was the person commanded to push the botton. However, within his mind and within his soul, lyrics like "Give Peace A Chance", had shaped his personality. He disobeyed the commands, and he did NOT push the red button. Thus and therefore you, your girlfriend, your parents are alive today. Thus and therefore you are not a handicapped foster. Thus and therefore you should respect lyrics, and what lyrics in a song can do to you, and to the world.

If you wish to work in the music business, perhaps you should never question who Yoko Ono and who John Lennon are.

The story is, of course, bigger - but this may be a start for you as a youngster to understand the importance of the music business, the producers who shape the sound so the public may understand the message, and the manager who accepted to crash budgets in order to get a meaning through.

Additional: Music Management was in New York in December 1980 observing the new act, Bruce Springsteen, but had - due to jet-lack - left the city for Europe three days before John Lennon's death. Looking in the rear mirror, if Music Management had stayed and fulfilled the mission of contacting major artists, Music Management would most likely have been in contact with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and the recording studio, perhaps with the consequence, that nothing would have happened to John Lennon. Thus, John Lennon would have produced more peaceful music about peace. And how could that have related to the 26th of September 1993?

Music Management & International Promotion bring the story exactly as it is told to Music Management.
