WHAT IS MUSIC MANAGEMENT

WHAT IS MUSIC MANAGEMENT? SHOULD ARTISTS CARE TO GET A MANAGER?

When Music Management & International Promotion was young, some people laughed.

Music Management launch a series based upon old and new interviews with managers found on for example YouTube.

Music business constantly change. You may believe that it is plenty to upload your video on YouTube or Vimeo, and perhaps add some sales via iTunes.

But you are wrong.

Founder of Music Management & International Promotion went to CBS Records and told about the conceptual idea of music management in 1983.

The CBS A&R manager leaned back in his chair and glanced respectlessly, saying the comment: "What is music management, anyway?! Music cannot be managed!"

The situation was apparently similar to the meeting at the record label DECCA in 1963, where the label manager leaned back in his chair and glanced respectlessly, saying: "The Beatles. What a stupid name!!"

Many years later, we can look in the rear-mirror, and the CBS-manager is unemployed, while the concept of music management is growing into every artists attention.

There is a lot more to music than notes and sheet-music. Music Management & International Promotion was thus the ONLY one to talk and chat with the creators of i.e. Elton John and ABBA. Serious talk. Serious constructive chats and interviews.

Many artists would never-ever have made it, had it not been for their manager. Had Brian Epstein, manager of The Beatles, not been running into the office of DJM at the exact moment of time begging for a deal because he was ignored by another company, then who knows where Elton John's life would have been today. Would anybody have been patience and invest?

Managers are important. They talk to people. They make artists spin. They find money. They find investors. They talk to people. They stimulate media. They pick up the phone, while you are exhausted from performing. And so on.
